Gujarat has faced an unprecedented unseasonal rainfall event in recent times, causing significant crop losses across various districts. In response to the distress of the farming community (Dhartiputras), the State Government has announced a massive relief measure. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel confirmed a historic relief package amounting to approximately ₹10,000 Crore.
Key Highlights of the Relief Package:
The Chief Minister announced that the state government stands with the farmers with full compassion during this natural calamity.
- Relief Aid: An estimated ₹10,000 Crore relief and assistance package has been declared for the widespread crop damage.
- Assistance Amount: Farmers will receive an assistance of ₹22,000 per hectare.
- Benefit Cap: The compensation is capped up to a maximum limit of 2 hectares per farmer.
- Widespread Impact: This package will benefit thousands of farmers across 33 districts, 251 talukas, and over 16,500 villages.
- Crop Coverage: Support covers major Kharif crops like Groundnut, Cotton, Paddy, as well as horticultural crops.
- MSP Procurement: Furthermore, starting November 9th, the state government will procure Groundnut, Moong, Urad, and Soybeans from farmers at Minimum Support Price (MSP), valued at over ₹15,000 Crore.

Krushi-Pragati App: Enabling Farmer Self-Survey for Compensation
To ensure the survey and compensation process is quick, transparent, and efficient, the Agriculture Department has launched the “Krushi-Pragati” mobile application. This allows farmers to conduct a self-survey of their crop loss damage without waiting for government teams.
However, it is noted that some farmers have reported facing continuous errors while filling out the loss assessment form on the Krushi-Pragati application.
Step-by-Step Guide to Using the Krushi-Pragati App:
Farmers must follow the detailed guidelines released by the Agriculture Department to register their losses via the Krushi-Pragati app:
1. Login Process:
- Download the “Krushi Pragati“ app from the Play Store.
- Register using your registered mobile number and verify via OTP to log in successfully.
2. Initiating the Survey:
- After logging in, select the “Crop Damage” option from the menu.
- Enter your Farm Survey Number.
- Verify the displayed farm boundary (Boundary). If correct, proceed with the survey.
3. Mandatory Location Verification (Geo-Tagging):
- It is mandatory for the farmer to be physically present within a 100-meter radius of the field while conducting the survey.
- The app uses GPS to Geo-Tag and confirm the farmer’s location.
4. Data Entry:
- Enter the Crop Name.
- Specify the area sown (in Gunthas/Area).
- Input any other relevant details concerning the loss.
5. Photo Upload (with Geo-Tagging):
- Two photographs related to the survey must be uploaded.
- Both photos must be uploaded with Geo-Tagging.
- Photo 1: A clear photograph of the entire field.
- Photo 2: A photo clearly showing the specific crop damage within the field.
